Wandsworth interschools Dragons' Den competition came to an end on Friday 9th July after three weeks of heats held at 10 schools (including one special school) involving 84 teams judged by 36 different dragons from various successful businesses across London.

Nine temas went forward to the final to battle it out in front of four of the most imposing dragons in the competition so far; Stuart Johnston (Managing Director of Experian QAS UK), Nic Allen (Chief Executive at Devereux Architects), Abigail Oleck-Hewett ( Managing Director of BeauBronz Ltd) and Paul Jagoo (Director of Operations for Lemon Group).

The teams overcame nerves in order to present professionally to the dragons', with some teams concentrating on facts and figures while other teams acted out short adverts they had put together in order to appeal  to the dragons' business acumen.

After extended deliberations, the dragons announced the winners as Oak Lodge School (for deaf and hearing impaired youngsters) with their ' Deaf World Communicator'; a smart phone 'app' that translates the spoken word into text. They received a trophy and a cheque for £250 to spend as they wish.

Close runners up were John Paul II who designed the 'TD 2000', a tracking device that tracks small stickers placed on valuable items.

Here are three of the Dragons who took part at the Graveney School heats on the 21st June.

They are: Susan Rentoul (Susan Rentoul Design), Simon Rapley (Mint Design) and Peter Harrington (Experian QAS).

We are very grateful to all the business men and women who came along and worked exceptionally hard to decide which product and team deserved to go forward to the final.

A group from Graveney School visited Ringway Jacobs on March 4th 2010. They were picked up in style by a Ringway Jacobs minibus and delivered back to school after the visit. These BTEC business students needed to find out more about the aims, organisational structure, customer service and communication within a large business. The working relationship between this highway maintenance company and their biggest client TfL was of particular interest.

Students ventured outside, guided by the Route Manager from TfL, to look for faults that could be reported to Ringway Jacobs for action.  One was found and duly reported by one of the students using the official website to log it.
